In addition to the opportunity to travel under reimbursable(you pay the upfront cost then the Coast Guard send you a reimbursement check) Coast Guard orders; some purchases in the name of the Coast Guard Auxiliary are tax deductible on your annual tax form as a "Charitable Donation". Purchases like uniforms can, depending on the quantity and style, can be costly. It's nice to know that the Government recognizes your service to the Auxiliary by allowing you to get some of your money back. Please understand that I am not giving you tax advice but am only pointing out a benefit to membership.Remember To Keep Your Receipts!!!
